iMod with 1-Wire interface

iMod telemetry module gained new feature which is 1-Wire interface.

1-Wire ® standard, also called network MicroLAN is designed and developed by Dallas Semiconductor consisting of digital data transmission between the device primary (master) with one or more slave devices communication based on single lead (1-Wire bus), while using a bidirectional, serial 1-Wire protocol.

iMod uses a terminal block for 1-Wire communication (two wires - the data line and GND)

Its name derives from the fact that for the total communication it use only one line of data. In addition, the receiver can be powered directly from the data line, using parasitic power, which is a great advantage of this interface.

1-Wire interface is similar to the I ² C interface, but due to a single line of communication is both slower and less expensive. 1-Wire is normally used for communication between small devices such as digital thermometers, measurement instruments, drivers, battery chargers, electronic locks iButton type, etc.

Wide range of products - especially any kind of system temperature, humidity, or other physical quantities - equipped with a 1-Wire interface and ease of connecting with both a very small number of interface cables, encourage many manufacturers to build a network of diverse sensors.

This way you can measure, for example, temperature in the room to control the air conditioning and heating systems. You can build weather stations with few connections. Uses a lot. Network of 1-Wire is often a mixture of sensors and functional systems, various kinds of wires and their connection topology.
